Gryffin turns 4!

Here's the birthday boy enjoying a cupcake on his special day. He coloured the icing for the cupcakes himself - they were vibrant yellow, green, pink, or blue! We had a birthday party for Gryffin on March 29. It was so much fun that we have very few photos of the event, we were too busy enjoying ourselves!

The "Rainbow Smartie cake" as requested by Gryffin. He got the cake decorations out 2 weeks before the party.

Spring

Manning Ski Trip

In late March we took a trip with friends to play in the snow at Manning Park. Before we packed up, Gryffin had breakfast in "the Pirate ship" that was also our food bin for the trip.

Rowyn liked travelling in the backpack...here she is during a rare awake moment (she kept falling asleep while riding on Mommy's back).

Gryffin and his good friend Zoe enjoy some hot chocolate after tobogganing.


Gryffin is a good skiier, but he feels too slow on his skiis. Maybe next year he'll be ready to try downhill skiing and go faster!

Rowyn is starting to enjoy small tastes of food from our plates and has just figured out how to feed herself a rice cracker, much to everyone's delight!


We went for a walk at Lynn Canyon this weekend. The suspension bridge was fun, but so was the hollow stump Gryffin "fell into" in the parking lot.

Who do you love?

The holidays were busy. Grandma came to visit, and we enjoyed spending time together baking, visiting friends, and playing in the snow.

We made a gingerbread house - Grandma was the architect, Allyson was the builder, and Gryffin was the decorator and taste tester!

Rowyn enjoyed her first outing in the backpack. Lots more to come!

We visited the Bright Nights exhibit at Stanley Park and rode the Christmas train.

Rowyn is 5 months old now - she is growing fast. Her favorite things are: smiling, drooling, rolling over, tummy time, bath time, touching faces, getting her hands in your food, grabbing at her toys, playing with her hands and feet, and Gryffin!

Just before Christmas we received a wonderful gift - Gryffin had Rowyn laughing for the first time. So far he's the only one who can make her laugh!

SNOW!

We had a lovely weekend of snow in Vancouver. Gryffin and daddy when skiing and sledding in the local park and we all went for a walk to another park on Sunday where Gryffin built a snowman. On Monday morning Gryffin said he was disappointed. When asked why? He said "I don't want it to rain. I want it to snow" He was worried that his snow man would melt. So on the way to daycare mommy drove by the park and they discovered the snowman was okay.
