Happy New Year

It's been a bit rainy, but we went to the beach today...

Rowyn spotted some ships.

Anchor's aweigh!

Merry Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house not a creature was stirring not even a Gryffin or Rowyn... until 2 am when Gryffin asked Daddy if he could turn the light on to look at books because he was too excited to sleep.

Gryffin opening his stocking.

Rowyn checking out her new purse!

Gryffin with 1 of his 2 new Transformers. He's wanted this one since the summer and even made up a song about it when he lost his front teeth.

All I want for Christmas are my two...

Rowyn pretending to be a present. Her words were "I hide, I hide under tree"

Gryffin getting ready to ride his new bike.

Candle light Christmas dinner. The camera flash makes it look brighter. A few weeks back Gryffin found some candles and thought it would be neat to eat dinner by candle light. Since then Sunday has become candle light dinner night.

Bed time is so much more fun when you have new pajamas to wear, plus Super Heroes don't need to go to bed!

Bed time, says who? First we must do battle and save the world...

SKIING!!!

I can remember often wishing for snow on my birthday. Well the local ski hills opened last weekend and we went skiing today. Everyone had a blast. In Gryffin's words. "That was a lot of fun. I don't want to go home!"

Snug as a bug in a rug! Rowyn's all ready to go for her first ski ride in the pulk.

Off we go to. Skiing into Hollyburn lodge a 2km ski from the parking lot.

Come on Daddy I'll race you!

Yay we made it to the lodge! Let's go have some hot chocolate.

What fun!

Hot chocolate and snacks with my favorite sister!

I don't want to go home:(

Happy Hallowe'en!

It's pumpkin time!

Gryffin found great creative inspiration from Hallowe'en and drew pages and pages of pumpkins, skeletons, ghosts, RIP gravestones, a zombie hand (yikes!)...he and Scott even decorated the lawn (what's left of it thanks to the chafer beetles and crows).

The Hulk is ready to go trick or treating.
So is the ladybug :)

Gryffin goes to Kindergarten

Here's Gryffin all ready for his first day of school.

Summer

It was a busy summer....finally some photos to share a few highlights:

Qualicum beach, Vancouver Island

Tofino, Vancouver Island

Come on let's go!

Morningstar Farm

Rowyn's 2nd birthday!

The garden grew and grew.

And so did the kids!

What's up Doc?
Notice anything missing in Gryffin's smile?!

Spring!

We've been keeping ourselves busy...playing at the park

learning to help ourselves to snacks doing science experiments like making volcanoes and changing the colour of a white flower

building

scribbling

being a model superhero

and sometimes we even slept!

We celebrated Gryffin's 5th birthday with monster cupcakes

and an awesome party at Science World! (thank you grandparents!)

At Science world we played

ate volcano cake

and enjoyed being with friends.

Happy Birthday Gryffin! It's been an amazing 5 years!
